Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1750.

Walnut-tall case clock. The hood has a cove and ovolo molded pediment with a flat top, rectangular sidelights, with applied moldings surrounding them, and a glazed door with a square opening. Waist with ogee moldings at the top and a case door with two circular peepholes and an astragal top. Base with ovolo moldings at the top, a small pendant drop at the bottom, and supported on bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals and applied cast decoration in the spandrels. Inside the chapter ring, there is an engraved star pattern, circular punch work, and a calendar aperture. The dial is signed "Joshua Humphrys Charleston." Thirty hour movement.
